Concerts in the Park – Warner Center

‘Nuff about food, what else is there to do in the Valley besides eat and shop?

Well, I’m glad you asked…the Valley Cultural Center puts on concerts in the Park every Sunday afternoon/evening.  It’s a free concert, thanks to the contributors to the organization, and the complete schedule of the 2009 summer is here.  Now if you were too lazy to click that link, let me spell it out for you.

June 28 (this coming Sunday) from 2-8pm – Orleans at the Woodland Hills/Tarzana Chamber Family Festival.  There will be rides for the kids, a bunch of local performers coming, and also food vendors for everyone.  For those under 30 who don’t know who the Orleans are, they’re a pop-rock band famous for their 1975 hit “Dance with Me” and their 1976 hit “Still the One“  Man, after watching these videos, these songs are soo catchy. I like.

July 4 from 6-9:30 pm – Dennis P. Zine Fireworks Extravaganza with Don Sweeney & The SRO Big Band.  There’s be famous big band pieces (get ready for swing dancing!), some patriotic tunes for our favorite country, and fireworks to live music!  Oh, here’s a sneak peek of the band.

July 12 from 6-8 pm – Preservation Hall Jazz Band.  Playing in the style of New Orleans jazz, you should bring a picnic basket, and chill on a warm evening with jazz music.

These are just the concerts that are coming up in the next few weeks, as the dates come closer, I’ll be posting more events on here, including movies at the park.

Location: Warner Center Park – 5800 Topanga Canyon Blvd.  Woodland Hills, CA 91367
